FOR THE CLIENT: 10 WAYS TO PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

We love a prepared client but we can’t expect that every client knows how to prepare for their appointment, so it is our job to share all the information! From before they get there to after they leave here’s all the tips for clients to prepare for their appointment.

1. Every Minute Counts

Being on time for appointments to the best way to get the most out of your appointment. When it comes to eyelashes, every minute counts. Five to Ten minutes seems small but it makes a difference In the final result.

2. Come with Clean Lashes

We always preach good after care and it applies to preparing for your appointment too! Make sure clients know to clean their eyelashes before their appointment with enough time to let them dry.

3. Don’t Hydrate

Drinking water is good for just about everything expect our bladders. Yes, if clients need to use the restroom during their appointment it is possible but if it can be avoided it is best. Save the hydrating for after the appointment.

4. Caffeine Free

Speaking of hydration, caffeine before the appointment is a no-no. Caffeine make the eyes jittery! A relaxed eye is the easiest to work with. Recommend that clients skip caffeine or give themselves a few hours before the appointment.

5. The less Makeup the Better

It’s understandable that some clients come from work or other arrangements before their appointment and don’t want to wear zero makeup but it is always best to wear no makeup. Always no eye makeup but the less makeup around the eyes or on the face is best because of the eye pads and tape. If no makeup is not an option, allow enough time before the appointment to wash the face!

6. Shower Before

Because of the general 24 hour no water rule, I always recommend that clients plan to shower and wash their hair prior to their appointment. This is a sure fire way to avoid too much moisture after the appointment.

7. Hold the Phone Calls

Because every minute counts and us as lash artists need to be focused, make sure clients are aware that we cannot spend our time answering calls and texts. As a client, silence your phone and let any contacts know you will replay in X amount of time. You are paying for lash time!

8. Voice your Wants

Clients are paying for a service, so if they have requests let them know they can voice their wants in regards to their lashes! Suggest that they show you pictures during consultation, or ask before the appointment if there’s any changes to be made.

9. Relax

Some clients love to chat where some want to sit back and listen to headphones. Either way, I want my clients to know this is their time. As a client, if you want a blanket or headphones just bring them!

10. Prepare to Reschedule

Part of being prepared for the appointment is being ready to reschedule. We understand that this is not possible for every situation, but if the majority of clients can pre-book appointments it makes the scheduling process smoother.
