CLEANLINESS + SANITATION

“Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands” It’s all over the news, it’s taking over social media, and it’s an all around hot topic right now—stopping the spread of viruses . Cleanliness and sanitation is an absolute necessity in our industry all the time, but with it being in the headlines right now I thought it was the perfect time to dedicate a post to a few tips to avoid the spread of diseases.

EnvironmentKeep your environment clean by washing your sheets and bedding, use a different towel or paper product under each new client, and use anti-microbial cleaner/wipes on all hard surfaces.

That New NewAlways use disposable items where possible. Use new Gel pads, mascara wands, micro-swabs, tape, and any other disposable items for each client. It’s also a good idea to use a towel or tissue on your client’s forehead during the appointment to avoid skin to skin contact.

Properly Clean your Tweezers + MoreClean your tweezers after every. single. client. Always double check with your state board for proper sanitation laws and follow the instructions for your disinfectant, but clean your tweezers with soap and water and then soak in barbicide. A great tip is to have at least two sets of tweezers for back to back appointments. As for your crystal or jade stone the best way to remove excess adhesive is soaking in acetone and rinsing with soap and water.

Don’t be afraid to say NoAvoid the risk of catching and spreading contagious illnesses and ask your clients to stay home if they are sick. This is one of the biggest ways to stop the spread of germs is to stay home if you are sick!

Face MaskBy wearing a mask you avoid the fumes, contamination, and bad breath! This is a simple way to protect yourself and your clients from spreading germs.

Wash your Hands & Don’t Touch your FaceThis is the number one thing we can be doing right now to avoid any spreading! We should obviously always be washing our hands before and after each client—but keep this in the front of your brain and wash a little extra during this time!
