The magic of tape

Tape is a lash artist’s best friend, am I right or am I right? There are so many ways to utilize tape to our advantage. From securing bottom lashes to calming twitchy eyes tape can do it all. It’s one of those things that you could survive a lash appointment without but when you do make tape work for you it makes all the difference in the world! Today I’m sharing 5 different ways tape can make your (lash) life easier.

1. Bottom LashesUsing tape in place of a lash pad OR on top of your lash pad as insurance—tape is a sure fire way to secure the bottom lashes from peeking out.

2. Tape-Up MethodThis is such a simple but effective trick to getting those lash sets 100%. When your set is 80-90% complete you can apply tape in a lifting manner to the extensions to quickly isolate and expose the bottom layer of lashes.

3. Eye LiftI say “eye lift” because my clients always comment how it feels like I’m giving them an eyelift. By applying two pieces of tape perpendicular to the lash line while lifting the lid slightly you can lift away extra eyelid skin, lift a droopy eye, and also allow more lashes to be visible. I love this trick because it makes the base of the natural eyelash easy to see making my placement just right.

4. Inner CornerUsing one piece of tape to slightly pull the inner corner of the eyelid outward will help separate those tricky inner corner lashes. Place the tape parallel to the lash line and pull the opposite direction of the inner corner!

5. Stop the Twitch!Ever been able to tell that your client had extra caffeine? Or have an extra chatty client? This trick works for any twitchy or nervous eye. Simply place a piece of tape on the eyelid while not manipulating the lashes at all, the slight weight and pressure from the tape with help lessen the twitching.

These simple tape tricks hold a big punch! I love using tape every. single. appointment. What magic tape tricks do you have up your sleeve?
