The Lash Artist’s Winter Survival Guide
We’re in the middle of winter around here and it shows—it’s dark, cold, and generally unexciting. Unfortunately for lash artists there are no snow days, but here are some remedies for surviving the winter blues!
Vitamins & Supplements
I recommend to consult with a doctor before taking any new vitamins and supplements but I encourage doing so! We are lacking important nutrients without the sunshine so anything to help with that is going to be a bonus. It’s so important for us to stay as healthy as possible for ourselves and our clients!
Humidifiers Everywhere
It is DRY season. The air is dry and cold and the heaters are pumping drying everything out so we need all the moisture we can get. We already know how important humidifiers are for lashing but I’m saying we need them at home too!
Exercise + Stretch
This is always recommended for everything but being active is extra important for lash artists who work sitting down all day. Winter season is overall less active than summer months so it’s even more important to be aware of now.
Stay Warm
Have you ever lashed whole freezing or even worse been lashed while freezing? It is not a good time. Don’t forget to dress in layers, use a space heater for your feet, and provide additional blankets for your clients.
Go Outside
I know, I know, it’s freezing! We typically try to avoid the outside at all costs but if there is any tolerable weather I recommend bundling up and getting outside even just for a small amount of time. We work inside all day long and fresh air is important too!
Healthy Mind
I am a victim of the winter blues and the only way to survive winter is to keep a healthy mind. Whatever that means for you, do it! I need a little bit of all of the above but with those tools it’s a lot easier.
