Tile Tips
The lash tile is one of the most important tools in our lash cart. It’s a system within the whole system of lashing AND It is possible to have the perfect lash tile, so I am here to tell you how!
Sort By
Kind of like online shopping, you can “sort by” and arrange your lash strips to your preference. Organizing shortest to longest is my go-to because it keeps my most used lengths towards the bottom and it’s just what works for me. Organizing longest to shortest is great too because none of the longer lengths block the view of the other strips. The way you sort your lash strips is personal preference, but if something isn’t working for you consider rearranging.
Choose your Backdrop
The first step in setting up your lash tile is to give yourself a solid base. Lash Essential’s acrylic tiles are white and glossy but whichever tile you choose I would suggest white or light colored. It makes the lashes easier to see because of the contrast!
Clear Labeling
Between all the different curls and diameters, it is crucial to have clear cut labels. Lucky for us, lash strips come individually labeled by length so all we need to worry about is labeling our tiles with curl and diameter.
Glue Space
I have a bad habit of placing my jade stone at the bottom of my lash tile, and I say bad habit because I love to swipe my arm in glue and ruin my clothes. ANYWAYS, wherever you choose to place your glue dot don’t forget to leave space on your tile for your favorite adhesive.
Junk Tweezer
Does anyone else have a small graveyard of “bad” tweezers? I’ve dropped a few in my day, but don’t count them useless just yet! I keep a pair on hand as my “junk tweezer” and it’s the tweezer I use for removing old lash strips and picking up new ones. Nobody wants any sticky residue on the tweezers they need to fan with!
Stick it Good
After placing the lash strip on your tile, use the butt of your tweezer and give it another pass—really securing the lash strip down. A loose corner can really slow you down while picking up lashes!
Fluff it Up
This tip is especially important for volume lashes, after placing and securing your strip use a new lash wand and brush them out like a fresh set of lashes. This extra step helps any stuck lashes and keeps each lash straight and ready to be fanned or picked up
Fan Ready
I don’t always use this tip, but if I have a tile of all new lash strips and I don’t have time to fuss I grab a small group of lashes from the end of the strip and just toss those lashes, exposing enough strip to make my fan on. It’s all about setting ourselves up for success.
Pick your Favorites
Are you consistently slowed down because you’re replacing your 11mm? Whichever your most used length is, it is handy to just get ahead of the problem and give that length two rows on your lash tile! You’ll be amazed what a difference this makes.
No Overlap
This one can be tempting, especially if you are rushed, but don’t place your new lash strip on top of your old empty one. It is very hard to fan on top of a pile of lash strips and it is overall less clean and organized.
