How to protect your lashes this summer ☀️

I thought it would never come, but with Memorial Day weekend under our belts it officially feels like summer is here. Eyelash extensions are a summer time necessity, but swimming, BBQs, and all of the outdoor activities can be hard on our extensions. With a little extra care we can protect our lashes all summer long. I reiterate this list with my clients EVERY. SINGLE. SUMMER. and I suggest you do too!

Wash & Rinse
Washing and rinsing your lashes seem obvious but in addition to your everyday cleansing routine take the time to rinse your lashes with clean water after swimming in pools, oceans, or lakes. You don’t want chlorine to dry on your lashes!

Remember the Golden 24 Hour Rule
Another swimming tip-- always wait the full 24 hours before taking a dip. Plan your fills accordingly for your vacations or pool days.

Accessorize Responsibly
Wear sunglasses while outside, but especially if you’re participating in any activities that create wind such as, boating, biking, driving with the top off, etc. Sunglasses will also protect against sun rays which can potentially break down the adhesive bond.

Lashes are not Fire Resistant
Avoid extreme heat! I’m talking about BBQs, fire pits, hibachi grills, or anything that puts off a lot of heat really. Heat will singe your lashes!

SPF, Obviously
Wear sunscreen but opt for lotions not sprays on your face. It will help keep those lashes clean!

Be ExtraWe tend to be more active in the summer, so plan your fills ahead of time and if you need to come in more frequently—that’s okay! We all want good lashes.

Taking extra care of your lashes this summer will help to keep them fluffy and pretty! Enjoy the fact that lashes make summer fun a breeze!
