The Prepared Lash Artist 💁‍♀️

You know those mistakes that immediately teach you a lesson, the mistakes that you never want to repeat? I’ve experienced a few of those “what now” moments while I’ve had a client in front of me and now I try to be over prepared! Here’s a few of my best tips to become the prepared lash artist

Backup Everything

It is good practice to have a back up of your most crucial products and tools AKA glue and tweezers. I have used my last drop of glue without realizing and then I found myself cutting open my glue bottle to get any remaining glue out! And it’s like a security blanket to have extra tweezers in case the unfortunate drop!

Work Back to Back

This tip is especially important during full sets, but working on both eyes back to back  covering the surface can save you in case of an emergency! If you or your client suddenly have to leave it’s better to have equal coverage compared to one eye complete.

Remover

This one goes along with having a backup but if you’re like me and don’t do very many removal services it’s not only important to have a remover on hand but to replace it before it expires! I once used an old bottle of remover and it did not even remove one eyelash.

Last Resort Lashes

Luckily I’ve never had to use this tip but I heard it years ago and I’ve always kept it in the back of my mind juuuuust in case. If you ever run out of a lash length that you just cannot live without you can use a longer lash and use a razor blade to cut the bases to create exactly what you need.

Contact Information

Always always always have a way of communicating/reaching your clients. In the case of plans changing you don’t want to leave your clients hanging! Even if I book a client over social media, I ask for the phone number!
