Spring Lash Care
Spring is in the air! Clients are spending time outside, traveling, and being more active which means we need to be giving a refresher on aftercare and what extra steps they should be taking to make their lashes not only last, but return in tip top shape. During the spring and summer months I always add a few extra steps to my aftercare routine and a few more if I’m on vacation swimming or doing other activities.
Keep Allergies at Bay
Like I said, spring is in the air and if you suffer from allergies you are probably feeling it already. Watery itchy eyes pose a problem for eyelash extensions so it’s best to figure out what remedies work for you to keep those allergies contained. Rubbing the lash line is one of the worst things you can do to your lashes!
Spring Shed
The spring shed is real! If you are experiencing retention problems it could be because you are experiencing a heavier shed. My tip is to take care of your lashes as usual and schedule extra fills If needed.
CLEANSE
Using a lash cleanser should already be at the top of your aftercare routine, but it’s even more important to be cleansing everyday during this active season. If you are swimming, getting sweaty or dirty, or wearing sunscreen it’s important to rinse your lashes with clean water even if you can’t cleanse right away!
Pre-Book
Scheduling your fill appointments according to your vacations will prevent any stress of not getting an appointment when you need and will assure your lashes are looking the best and can last throughout!
Protect Your Lashes
It’s good practice to protect our face from the sun, but it’s also important to protect our lashes. Wear a hat and or sunglasses! We want to protect our lashes from outside elements like wind, dust, and strong sun rays. Check out our “Spring Favs” post to see our favorite sunscreens!
No Spray SPF
Wearing SPF is so important as we enter the warmer months, but it’s best to reach for a lotion for our faces! The Spray SPF is not good to have sitting on our lashes.
Don’t Singe your Lashes
I see this one every year so it’s always a good reminder. Our lashes are not fire resistant so be cautious as you are around a fire or opening a BBQ.
