MUST HAVE APPS: CONTENT CREATION

IMG_6458.jpeg

Extra free time? Temporarily out of work? Trying to be proactive? Don’t let the quarantine get you down! Now it’s as important as ever to apply ourselves and keep our businesses active—even if we might not be. Whether the pandemic has you closing your doors or not a great way to keep working and get ahead is to up your social media game and pre plan future posts.  Content Creation is exactly that: creating and distributing content via social media platforms. Social media is so important when it comes to building your business. It’s a great way to showcase your work, help gain clientele, and meet a community of other lash artists. It can be intimidating to always have the “perfect picture” or “creative posts”  but I have found a few apps that make it simple. I use these apps to add personality to my posts and make my pictures and videos visually pleasing. Taking the extra steps and being intentional about the content I’m creating has increased the engagement on my page and given me clients I wouldn’t have reached any other way. Below is a list of apps you can use to step up your social media game too.

Hype Type and Type Art These two apps are great for adding text and animation to pictures AND videos! In Hype Type you can add music and crop the dimensions of your clip.  Videos and stories are taking over the Instagram world and these apps are great for adding a personal touch. TIP: Your videos will get better engagement if they have words or something visual related to what you are talking about.

Clipomatic
This app is also for your videos, but instead of adding animation it creates subtitles for what you are saying. If you posts a lot of front-facing camera shots of you talking this app is for you! Think about how often you scroll through Instagram stories with your sound off—but with Clipomatic your followers will still know what you are talking about! Win!

Unfold
This app is full of templates for your Instagram stories.  Add text, layer photos, and enhance the overall design of your stories. Once I became familiar with the app I was surprised how many big-time accounts are using the same templates.

Photofy
This is a photo editing app and content creation tool. The app has tons of photo editing options , built in text and overlay templates, and other features that make sharing photos easy.

VSCO
VSCO is a photo sharing app but it is great for quick and easy photo editing. I love using this app for simple fixes like lighting or adjusting the angle of the picture.

Facetune
This is another photo editing app but Facetune is specifically great for editing faces. It is easy to soften any imperfections on the face while still keeping the integrity of the picture. I love using this app on client close ups because I can leave the eyelashes completely unedited while making any blemishes disappear.

TouchRetouch
More photo editing! This app is magic as it allows you to remove unwanted objects from the shot. Maybe someone walked by as you snapped the picture, or you left your sandwich in the background, whatever it is you can have a clean back drop in any picture. It sounds complicated but this app makes it easy.

WordSwag
My favorite app for creating text-only pictures in the best designs. It is seriously so simple! These types of pictures can be a great addition to your feed or stories.

DesignLab
This app is fun! You can add text, drawings, logos, and so much more to your photos. This is another photo editing app that is great for personalizing your content.

Canva
Probably one of the most versatile content creating apps. You can create anything! Instagram stories, logos, Facebook posts, flyers, invitations, and so much more.

Planoly and Unum
Both of these apps are used for planning Instagram posts ahead of time. There are so many planning apps out there but these are the two I have used successfully! This is a great tool to make sure you are consistently posting. Also, I love being able to see what my feed will look like before I commit to a post.

There are SO MANY apps out there to enhance your pictures and videos, these are just a few of my tried and true apps that I use all the time. Creating content and editing pictures can be overwhelming and sometimes boring but with the help of these apps it is easy, efficient, and it will make a difference!
