HOLIDAY PREP
Hello October! Halloween is just around the corner which means Thanksgiving is following close behind and then it’s all things Christmas and New Years. It feels like we were just talking about setting goals for the new year and now we’re talking about wrapping up the whole year again. The holidays are coming! Here’s a few things to keep in mind as we approach this new season.
Set your Schedule
We all want our clients to pre-book and plan accordingly, so we need to do the same. Set your adjusted business hours and days off as far in advance as possible. Plan for events and parties, travel, holidays, or anything else that requires time away from work. I like to go through at the beginning of the year and book out my guaranteed days off—Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. If you don’t want clients scheduling on holidays you have to beat them to the punch!
Plan Ahead
The end of the year is a busy time of year all around so anything you can knock out of the way now you will thank yourself for later. I give my clients a small gift for Christmas so you better believe I’m prepping for that now.
Communicate
Communication feels like the answer for everything, but for good reason! As the season approaches keep communicating with your clients. Let them know of any changes, recommend they pre-book extra appointments, and remind them of your holiday hours.
Promotions
The Holidays are not just plan, plan, plan—It’s also a great time to run a promotion. This is especially a good time to get clients through your door because everyone wants to look good for their events.
Enjoy!
I love the Holidays, the hustle and bustle, the boost in business, and all the excitement. It’s important to remember that they are your holidays to enjoy too! Set your business hours, honor your policies, and accept that you can only do so much. My advice is to be intentional about your time off and lean into enjoying it.
