THE ERGONOMIC LASH ARTIST
An ergonomically friendly workspace means the environment is as safe, effective, and comfortable as possible. Lashing can be straining on our bodies but there are tools and equipment that can ease the strain. We need to take care of our bodies so here’s a few things you can add to your workspace now!
Using the correct seat is huge for our bodies! I recently switched to a saddle stool and it has done wonders for my hips and posture. It is also crucial that your seat adjusts up and down.
Our hands are the money makers so we need to treat them as such. Stretching and exercising our fingers, hands, and wrists can go a long way in the long run. There are so many options for any different needs!
A brace is one of those things that you hope you don’t “need” to use but can be a great tool for protection. I know so many lash artists that suffer from wrist pain and wearing a brace at night or during there time off is a great help. Any support is good support!
It is easy to focus on our bodies and any physical pain but our eyes are also working overtime while lashing. Good lighting can ease so much strain on our eyes!
A lash pillow makes for a comfortable client but It can also create a more comfortable work experience for the lash artist. I like lash pillows because they put the client right where I need them, they allow for my arms to rest comfortably, and it gives my product space without having to reach.
