Tweezer Tips 💁‍♀️

We use them for every single appointment, we need them from start to finish, they can make or break our set, and frankly, we couldn’t lash without them— Tweezers! A few weeks ago we covered all the tips you needed to know to have the perfect lash tile and now we’re talking about all the tweezer tips!

Keep a Spare or Two!

I might have a small collection of tweezers from over the years, but I have a rotation of four pairs that I use every day. Four might seem excessive but for me it keeps my day running smooth. I would recommend always having at least two good pairs for two reasons: 1. To allow for proper sanitation in between each client. It saves time! 2. In case of a fatal drop! Don’t risk having to suffer through an appointment with a bent tweezer.

Don’t Over Soak

I am guilty of this but I am working on it. If you use barbicide or any liquid sanitizer, follow the directions! It’s so easy to plop our tools in and walk away to leave them soaking but it can ruin our tweezers over time! We are using strong chemicals so it’s important to use them properly. Plus, we don’t want to wear out any pretty finishes our tweezers may have.

Tweezers are Friends not Tools

Did you catch that Finding Nemo reference? Anyways, I know tweezers are technically a tool if not our most important tool, but don’t use them as a tool beyond the eyelash appointment! No picking up sticky lash strips, no unclogging glue nozzles, no eyebrow plucking between clients, etc. We want to keep our tweezer in the best condition possible. I keep a “junk tweezer” to use for those things!

OOPS TWEEZER CLEANSER

Lash Essential has saved the day with this product! Like I said, it’s best to avoid using tweezers beyond eyelash application but in the case of dipping more than just the lash into adhesive it’s best to have cleanser on hand. Have you ever tried fanning with tweezers that have a sticky spot? It’s a mess! Keep your tweezers clean at all times.

Sweet Spot + Tension

When it comes to the perfect tweezer it’s all about the sweet spot and tension combination. My tip is to find your sweet spot on your pick up and memorize it! Make perfect fans over and over until it is muscle memory. When it comes to tension, play around with your grip and your hand’s tension but if your tweezers are too tight or too loose on their own you can adjust the tension! A quick search on YouTube will show you just how to do it.

Don’t get Stuck in Your Ways

I see it all the time, people learn with one type of tweezer and they stick with it and never try anything new! I think the rules are loose here so if a tweezer works for you, great! But, I think it can be a great learning experience to try new methods and tools. I used to be set in my ways of isolating with a straight tweezer, I used this method for years until one day I grabbed a flat tip tweezer and I seriously haven’t looked back since. I’m quicker and more efficient than before even though I didn’t think I could be
