HYBRID LASHES 3 WAYS
HYBRID LASHES 3 WAYS
Not too dramatic, not too simple, customizable, and the best of both worlds— Hybrid! Hybrid is the combination of classic and volume, but where do you begin? How do you know which eyelashes should be classic vs volume? There are three approaches when it comes to completing a hybrid set and we’re going to cover them.
Classic First
With classic first, start by first applying single classic eyelashes across the entire eyelid leaving about every other eyelash untouched. Noting that hybrid lashes are very customizable so, if you are going for a more classic look you’ll apply more lashes now but if you are going for a volume heavy look you’ll leave more than every other lash without a lash for now. This approach is a great way to get the shape set, get a chunk of the work out of the way quickly, start any texture, and get a good evaluation of the lash line. If you start with classic and fill in with volume you can always finish by coming back to classic for any final touches.
Volume First
With volume first, you’ll do the apposite of the above method. Start the appointment with volume application across the entire eyelid and follow by filling in with classic lashes. The benefit of applying volume first is that you’re getting the more time consuming part of the appointment out of the way allowing you to breeze through the second half, you’re getting the bulk or fullness done first making it easy to see if you’re classic to volume ratio is where you want it before moving on, and you can check the fullness symmetry of each eye.
Side by Side
I always thought of applying all classic or volume first and then going through for a second pass with the opposite but hybrid is half and half so why not apply it that way? Set your tiles directly next to each other and apply whichever lash is needed. I love this approach because it brings a whole new meaning to customizable and eliminates the need for a complete second pass. Be cautious to keep the eyes symmetrical by working back and forth.
