Building a clientele: Advertising
Advertising is a great way to kick off your business and start building a clientele. There are so many avenues when it comes to advertising, but today’s post is going to touch on the two biggest helpers for building a clientele: word of mouth and social media. Word of mouth has been the biggest and best way to find clients for so long, but social media has quickly become the best way to get in front of a wide range of potential clients.
Word of Mouth
When someone asks how to find new artists in their area I always recommend asking anyone they see (with quality lashes) where they get them done and when they start to hear repeat answers you know you can trust the work. This is why we must always be putting our best work out there! This type of advertising is effective, easy, and free so win, win, win. One way to push this method is to create “walking billboards.” Choose a few clients who work in high traffic areas such as bank tellers, dental hygienists, or hair stylists to receive an awesome deal in exchange for being a real life billboard. Send them with business cards to pass along anytime someone compliments their eyelashes.
Social Media
Social media still feels new but it is a powerful tool. Use social media to showcase pictures of your work and reach people you wouldn’t otherwise connect with. By creating a social media account specifically used for business it gives your friends, family, and potential clients a reference for either sharing your information or researching your services. Social media is great for showcasing your brand and communicating with potential clients. If you are not using social media—do it now!
Advertising is an important tool when it comes to your business and specifically when it comes to building a clientele. If you are building a clientele from zero or you're looking to just add a few clients to your schedule don’t underestimate the power of advertising your work!
